Who is behind Fascinating Land Travels?

We, Mong Pay and Michael Pfeiffer, are friends with very different backgrounds. The love for the country Myanmar, her fascinating people and sceneries unite us.

Mong Pay

My name is Mong Pay, which means little boy in Pa-O dialect. The Pa-O are an ethnic group living in the Eastern part of Myanmar (in the Shan State, where Inle Lake is situated). My native town is Taunggyi, the capital of Shan State. Besides speaking Myanmar and English language I speak my local dialect, Pa-O.
Being myself from a hill tribe, I have deep knowledge of the various ethnic people in Myanmar. Previously I worked as free-lance tour guide for five years, showing and explaining my native region especially to European visitors. Since that time I gained knowledge what my clients need and what they prefer. This combined with my local knowledge allow me to create relevant and enjoyable itineraries for our guests.

Michael Pfeiffer

I am German and have been living and working in Myanmar since 1996. Before building up a travel agency in Yangon, I used to work for a large multinational company.
I fell in “love” with the country Myanmar and her people from the first day. Frequently traveling in Myanmar as a tourist, I knowing first hand, what International guests expect from a good travel agent.

What is our aim?
Individual tours, tailor-made to the wishes of our guests, traveling as individuals or in small groups. Tell us your wishes and we will design a journey especially for you.
Do you want to see as much as possible or do you want take in the culture, the people and the country Myanmar? Do you prefer it luxurious or can it sometimes be really local?

We will be glad to arrange flight- or hotel bookings only, if clients don’t want to buy a complete package.

It is important for us to know if you have by chance any maximum physical strains. Not everybody likes to take 18 hours rides on a local bus on bumpy roads.
The more you tell us, the more we can respond to your wishes to ensure that you will really have that vacation which you desire.

We may have our standard itineraries but will be glad to modify them according to your wishes, or organize trips totally individually for you.

We will only be happy,  when our guests at the end of their journey say, that they have seen the real Myanmar thoroughly.
Tourists to Myanmar by no means should expect infrastructure similar to their home-countries. We give you honest advice about the different options, with advantages and disadvantages. If a trip on a bumpy road will likely take probably 5 hours, we will tell!

Our emphasis is on providing excellent services at fair prices. We do not absolutely want to sell you the cheapest solution but the one fitting to your needs. There are very cheap German language tour guides available. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to understand them!
Our ultimate goal is for our guests to return to their home country with great memories and impressions, either coming back themselves or recommending us to their friends.

We want to bring you this beautiful country closer and help you explore her secrets, deep forests, primitive ethnic groups which are still little known in the outside world.

Why the name “Fascinating Land”?
Although many people in the outside world know the country Myanmar or Burma by name, actually very few have good knowledge of this country. Most tourists arrive, not knowing what to expect. Despite that, most visitors are fascinated not long after their arrival by the country, her people and the sights.
